The Benefits of CLIL

The Benefits of CLIL

Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is an approach to learning that uses a second or additional language as the language of instruction for other subjects.  Many schools are now looking to incorporate CLIL into their curriculum, and teachers have told us that it often falls to the English department to manage the CLIL programme.  Our blog this month looks at the benefits of taking a whole school approach and highlights how English language teachers and subject teachers can work together as a team. Margaret Cooze, author of Approaches to learning and teaching English as a Second Language has produced a useful infographic to help schools who are considering introducing CLIL across their curriculum.
