European Histories of the Present

European Histories of the Present consists of innovative ways of reading the present by analysing the recent history of its core themes. By focusing on the period from the 1970s until today, the series provides a reserved space for comparably short books which assess the key issues of the new Europe which has come into existence over recent decades. Individual books cover central contemporary issues such as migration, the environment, the economy, identity politics, and gender. Each volume combines transnational and comparative approaches, offering a comprehensive and argument-driven interpretation of a major theme of the history of the present. As such, they are highly topical and suited for readers from a range of disciplines and backgrounds, as well as for general readers interested in core issues defining today’s Europe.
